  • ANTIOXIDANTS
  • Antioxidants such as Vitamins A, E and C are powerful free radical scavengers that enhance the immune system and protect the body from harmful effects of oxidation.
  • APPLE CIDER VINEGAR
  • Derived from organically grown apples which contain the mother of vinegar. Vinegar has been known since 400 BC as an antibacterial & anti-fungal agent that gives the immune system a good boost. It rematerializes the body and helps normalize the dogs pH balance
  • BASIL
  • This herb is high in Vitamin K and magnesium, essential for cardiovascular health. Vitamin K has antibacterial properties and helps other nutrients properly do their job.
  • BEET PULP
  • A quality fiber and also a food source for essential good bacteria in a pet’s gut. These good bacteria thrive and crowd out the bad bacteria that cause diarrhea and vomiting. Beet pulp also gently cleans the intestinal wall, allowing more nutrients to be absorbed. Without adequate fiber, mucus builds up on the intestinal wall which inhibits nutrient absorption and leads to, mucus covered stools. Some state that excess amounts of beet pulp artificially reduces stool size. We include only optimal amounts in our premium pet foods.
  • BLUEBERRIES
  • High in antioxidants, these tasty berries help balance fats in blood (cholesterol). They have a favorable impact on balancing blood sugar levels.
  • BLUE GREEN ALGAE
  • The original member of the plant kingdom, and still the most complete and easily digested plant due to the absence of cell walls. Blue Green Algae is rich in protein, GLA and chlorophyll, which are known to provide many immune system benefits.
  • BREWERS YEAST
  • An important natural source of B vitamins, Brewers Yeast contains 16 amino acids, 14 minerals, and 17 vitamins. It has no relationship to yeast overgrowth.
  • BROWN RICE
  • Highly digestible; vets recommend it for pets with digestive upsets. This is the same boxed rice you see at the market, except we buy the broken pieces that mothers don’t want to see in the box. It is not pre-processed and is ground fresh by us.
  • CARROTS
  • A good source of low fat-soluble fiber, beta-carotene and vitamin A.
  • CHICKEN / DEBONED CHICKEN
  • The chicken we use a clean combination of skin and muscle meat without the bone. This is the same deboned chicken we eat and is free of added growth hormones and steroids.
  • CHICKEN FAT
  • A quality source of Omega 6 fatty acids, our chicken. Fat is pure and clear. It’s sourced from USDA plants processing chickens for our dinner table.
  • CHICKEN MEAL
  • Once cooked, all of the fat and water are released, creating a concentrated, highly-digestible protein and fat source. Our cat food uses low-ash chicken meal to control mineral levels that contribute to proper urinary health.
  • CHICKPEAS & LENTILS
  • These tasty legumes are loaded with gluten-free binding fiber that is a good source of protein. Besides balancing appetite and lowering cholesterol, insoluble fiber aids the large intestine in the digestion process and energy production.   • This root is rich in prebiotic fiber which promotes bile production allowing the body to better break down food for absorption.

  • A berry known especially for its help in resisting urinary tract infections. Components of Cranberry make the lining of the urinary tract too ‘slippery’ for harmful bacteria to adhere to.

  • HUMAN GRADE WHOLE-EGG
  • Comes from a farm that produces fresh eggs for human use. Some brands use broken eggs, or yolks and whites which are later recombined. The AAFCO definition for this is “Dried Egg Product” and the term is forced on all pet food makers, even though some brands, like Health Extension, use whole egg.
  • KELP / ATLANTIC KELP
  • Our kelp, harvested from clean, cold ocean waters, is a natural, highly bioavailable source of over 60 nutrients. Among its many benefits, kelp helps promote a dense and healthy coat. It also helps support the immune system, as well as helping to prevent infertility and premature aging.
  • L-CARNITINE
  • This naturally occurring compound is structurally similar to B-vitamins. Although dogs can manufacture this nutrient, it requires adequate levels of the amino acids methionine and lysine, as well as vitamin B-6 and C to be present for this to occur. L-Carnitine helps prevent obesity, diabetes, and heart disease.
  • LAMB & LAMB MEAL
  • Our Free-Range Australian and New Zealand Lamb is raised Hormone Free, Antibiotic Free and Steroid Free. Lamb is an excellent source of protein that is loaded with natural flavor and essential amino acids.
  • MILK THISTLE
  • This perennial plant extract improves liver bile flow, thereby eliminating wastes from the body. It also loads the liver cells with antioxidants, protecting them from chemical and free-radical damage.
  • OATMEAL
  • This new star of the health food industry is an excellent source of quality fiber. Veterinary dermatologists recommend using oatmeal on dogs with skin allergies, both as a shampoo and in the diet. Our human grade oatmeal is non-GMO, has not been irradiated, and contains no processing, chemical, nutritional or medicinal additives.
  • OMEGA-3 AND OMEGA-6
  • These naturally occurring fatty acids aid in developing and maintaining good hair coat and healthy skin. They can also reduce skin inflammation caused by mosquito bites and skin abrasions. For decades, research has shown that Omega-6 fatty acid (such as the chicken fat we use) aids in maintaining healthy skin and hair coat. Research indicates that Omega-6: Omega-3 ratios should be between 5:1 to 10:1. Health Extension formulas fall well within these ranges.

  • SALMON OIL
  • Deep sea-harvested salmon oil is high in Omega 3 fatty acids, specifically EPA and DHA.

  • SUNFLOWER OIL
  • Sunflower oil is obtained by extracting the oil from sunflower seeds. It cannot legally contain more than 3% impurities. This oil provides pets with the calories they require for energy as well as Omega-6 fatty acids essential for a shiny coat and healthy skin.
  • SWEET POTATOES
  • A healthier lower carb alternate to white potatoes, sweet potatoes are high in fiber and low in fat. They contain large amounts of essential vitamins, plus potassium and manganese, a trace mineral needed for growth, development and metabolism.
  • TAPIOCA STARCH
  • A gluten & corn free thickening agent or binder.
  • TOMATO
  • Rich in vitamin E and C plus beta-carotene, tomatoes contain antioxidants that reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease.
  • TURMERIC
  • Most commonly recommended for its powerful anti-inflammatory abilities, this ancient herb is believed to be beneficial in treating numerous ailments including flatulence, menstrual pain, jaundice, bloody urine, hemorrhage, toothache, bruises, chest pain, and colic. It is said to be as effective as over the counter anti-inflammatory agents but without the same negative side effects on stomach.
  • VENISON & VENISON MEAL
  • These sources of lean animal protein are high in amino acids that support the immune system. High in iron, they are also higher in vitamins and minerals than beef.
  • WHEATGERM OIL
