Hey! I’m Brad Gruber, the 3rd generation owner steering the ship at Health Extension, where we've been passionate about nurturing pets since 1963. Born and raised in New York within a vibrant entrepreneurial family, my journey into the world of pet nutrition was as personal as it was professional. At just 10 years old, I had saved up every penny to welcome a collie, my own "Lassie," into my life, sparking a lifelong love for animals.
Life threw me a curveball, fresh out of the University at Albany with a BS in Business, when I was diagnosed with Lymphoma at 22. Battling cancer was transformative (to say the least), reshaping my outlook on health and nutrition. Emerging in complete remission, I carry the lessons of that fight into every aspect of my life, especially at Health Extension.
Driven by a passion for holistic health, I joined my family's business to revolutionize pet nutrition using the very principles that saved my life. I believe that like us, our pets deserve a diet rooted in nutritious, whole food ingredients, free from anything that could harm their health. This conviction has fueled our expansion from humble beginnings in our basement to a thriving enterprise that now operates out of a 55,000sf facility in Hauppauge, NY.
Over the last 20 years Health Extension has blossomed, expanding its reach nationally and internationally, while launching a new toy division, SnugArooz, among other milestones. We've stayed true to our roots as a genuine 100% family-owned business, steering clear of outside investors to ensure our values and mission always guide us.
While receiving accolades along the way, like a top 40 under 40 award, the true reward comes from knowing we're making a difference. Every pet parent who chooses Health Extension is giving their furry friend what I believe to be the best chance at a long, healthy, and happy life. And isn't that what it's all about?
My journey has taught me to cherish each moment and strive to make a lasting impact, one day at a time. Outside of work I've been blessed to share my life with my loving wife, Alexis (since high school) where together we're raising three beautiful daughters, a Goldendoodle & a Morkie. Each day, they teach me more about life and love than I could ever have imagined.
